Erie County issues advisory at some beaches

Erie County Health Department tested water June 7 at several area beaches and

Erie County Health Department tested water June 7 at several area beaches and water samples came back with advisory or poor results, according to a news release.

The testing is part of the recreational water sampling program.

The following areas were listed as advisory: Bay View West, Beulah Beach, Orchard Beach, Sherod Park and Main Street Beach.

An advisory means three water samples came back with poor results, according to the release.

The areas where test results came back poor include: Whites Landing, Pipe Creek Wildlife Area and Darby Creek Heidelberg Beach, the release stated.

Lagoons Beach, Linwood Beach, Cedar Point Chaussee were listed in the fair category, according to the release.

The following were categorized as good: Bay View East, Nickel Plate Beach, Old Woman Creek Beach and Showse Park.
